About Us
How did we get here
We are a group of individuals from Queensland Australia that had formed a speedway go-kart club back in 1991. There were about 12 members that were racing under the nationally affiliated AKA. The members became sick and tired of the rising cost of going racing along with all the constant rule changes that made you spend more money. An opportunity came up were drivers put their road going Karts on the Nambour showgrounds on slick tyres. Everybody had a ball of fun. We had good crowds watching us race and it took much less time and effort that it took to go road racing. Drivers and crew were not out in the sun all day and Sunday was still mostly your own (except for maybe some cleaning dirt from the previous night). Much has happened since that first event but people are still racing on speedway dirt and loving it. Our club is quite small but it makes for a community where everyone gets along and has a fun time.
Where are we going
Our club embraces the new Speedway Kart Association of Australiasia (SKAA) that has already produced a set of national rules and regulations for speedway karting. We hope the association it will unify the clubs and grow the sport into a healthy future.
