Briefing Notes
Motor Racing is dangerous
Flags
Green Flag/Light - Start or Restart of race. Hold position until the
flag is dropped or the lights go green
Flashing Red light or Yellow flag/Lights - Slow down to rolling pace in
reform in single file as at the last completed lap for a restart. If a
lap has not been completed it will be complete restart. Raise your arm
to acknowledge if safe.
Red Flag/Lights - Stop immediately with saftey while raising your arm
to acknowledge is safe.
Black flag with diagonal stripe - You're running under protest report
to the cheif steward after the race.
Determine Start Style - Knoxville line, cone restart or green flag starts
Black Flag - You have been disqualified, pull to the infield
immediately with saftey. Something is wrong with the kart or the
driver has been disqualified.
Blue flag - Hold your line, you are about to be lapped
White flag - Last Lap of race
Black and White chequered flag - Finish of race, Raise your arm if
safe. You have not finished the race until you recieve the chequered flag.
Starting
Pushers - Please push the karts in the front of the grid first, keep in
a forward motion and watch out for karts following behind
Baulk Line - Pushers are to stop pushing a kart when the baulk line is
reached as determined by the cheif steward.
Pole Sitter - The poll sitter sets the pace and the 2nd driver must be
slightly behind.
Roling laps - Rolling lap pace is approximately half race pace.
Faster pace is perssible if catching up to the field but slow near any caution
areas.
Gridding - Know your grid postition and the 2 karts in front of you.
Grid postions left vacant by DNS or retirements to be filled by the
karts directly behind. It helps to grid up in formation before karts
are started.
Racing
Track Re-entry - For any off track moments please take care coming back
onto the track as another vehicle may be approaching
Spinning - When spinning apply the brakes, do not roll backwards.
Restarts - If you engine has stopped no restarting is allowed except
for a first lap restart (first lap restarts may be excluded at
promoters discression)
DNF - If you DNF during a race please attempt to bring you kart closer
to the pit gate.
Driver issues - If a driver or their crew has a problem with another
driver or crew do not confront them please see the drivers liasion if
nominated or the the cheif steward. Breach of this could exclude you
from a race or the event.
